Sutton House

Sutton House was built in 1535 and is East London's oldest family home. Its fascinating history can be seen in its visible layers of change which in turn, reflect the changes that have occurred in Hackney itself during the last five hundred years.

The house is owned by the National Trust who encourage local families to shape the role of the house in the local community and make it a welcoming place of creative learning for all families to enjoy. It has an exciting programme of community projects, creative activities, events and talks, plus a café and art gallery showcasing the work of local artists, craftspeople and community groups.
